Zap Comix created by Robert Crumb during the late 6o’s in San Francisco is a key example of the underground arts scene, that was part of an alternative culture springing up across all continents, but predominantly London and the U.S. Zap and other independent magazines of the time, demonstrate the freedom and energy of the youth of the time.
