Illustration from Learning from Las Vegas, The forgotten symbolism of Architectural Form {Robert Venturi} 1977.

Robert Venturi’s book, was the start of ‘Post Modernism’. The Desert City had grown out of people likes and dislikes, and the architecture had naturally evolved into what it was. People were growing tired of the clean lines of modernism. It didn’t matter if it was seen as Kitsch. This book saw the beginning of the hybrid post modernist era.
